Passage: John 7:14-54 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: John - That You May Believe
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - On the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, Jesus stood up and said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” A tradition grew up in the few centuries before Jesus that on the seven days of this feast, a golden container filled with water from the pool of Siloam was carried in procession by the high priest back to the temple. As the procession came to the Water Gate on the south side of the inner temple court, three trumpet blasts were made to mark the joy of the occasion and the people recited Isa. 12:3, “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Jesus stands before us today, declaring His true identity. Some of us will see and believe. Some of us will rejoice in our salvation. Some of us will be confused. But through declaring who Jesus is, God will be glorified in our worship today.
