Passage: Genesis 23-24 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: By Faith
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - At one time or another, every one of us will have the terrible experience of losing someone we love. We will stand at a cemetery and watch a casket descend into the ground. The minster will say a few words, the graveside service will end, and the earthly shell of our friend or family member will be buried in the earth. How will we handle those times of grief and mourning? How will we cope with the loss? How will we face the realities of death? In Genesis 23, 25 we read the accounts of Sarah and Abraham’s death. Here, the wounded can find help for those times of grief and loss. This morning we will discover that the only way to face the realities of death is to face them by faith. Only then can we enjoy the realities of life through Christ. May the Lord increase our faith, especially in the face of death.
