Speaker: Jon Kopp - Luke 2 is one of the most familiar Christmas passages in our Bible, and in it we find more than the cold facts of Jesus’ birth. Instead, we find the heartwarming message of God’s grace and love towards His people. In today’s text, an angel surrounded by the glory of God appears to a group of shepherds outside Bethlehem. The shepherds immediately are filled with great fear. But, the angel does not come with a message of fear. Instead, he proclaims good news of great joy that can drive out not only their great fear, but ours as well. Christmas is a story of great joy that can drive out our great fear.
