Passage: 1 Corinthians 15:12-20 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: Easter at Gospel Grace

Length: 48 mins 1 sec Plays: 2880

Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Who cares about Easter? This morning, as we look to God’s word, we will see that God does. And, therefore, we should too. So, what if Easter is just a scam, a hoax, a religious ploy? I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen a resurrected person. Perhaps because we’ve never met, or talked to, or touched someone who has come back to life… it makes it hard for some people to believe in the resurrection of Jesus. Have you ever wondered if the whole thing is folklore, empty tradition, or some religious story propagated by some monks a couple millennia ago. So what if Easter isn’t about Jesus raising from the dead? What if it is just about spring, bunnies who lay eggs, and candy? You go to Wal-Mart and look at the Easter card display and that’s what they say it’s about. Have you ever wondered, “What if Christ never rose from the dead? What if He’s just a religious legend? What if the whole resurrection thing is a joke?” This morning I would like to deal with that question: “If Christ didn’t rise from the dead, then what?” You see, it’s not a new inquiry. When Paul wrote to the Corinthian church, he dealt with that very thought, and so will we this morning. If Christ didn’t rise from the dead, then what? May we all believe and live the truth that Jesus died and rose again—and that truth changes everything!
