Speaker: Lukus Counterman - At the end of Luke 16 we come to a parable that’s unique to this gospel. It’s often referred to as the parable of “The Rich Man and Lazarus.” It its only one of its kind that gives us a bit of insight into the emotions and desires of people in Hell. And quite frankly it makes us uncomfortable. We don’t like to think of punishment, torment, or suffering. And yet, Jesus speaks clearly about it so that we’ll never end up there. Talk of Hell is not an unloving thing, it’s one of the most important things people need to know. The bad news of eternal punishment makes the good news of eternal life so much sweeter. So, may the Lord use his word to bring people to himself, and may he stir up believers to share the gospel with others before it’s too late.
