Passage: Deuteronomy 1:1-18 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: Relationship & Responsibility - Deuteronomy
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - There are times along life’s journey when God breaks into the gridlock and lets sojourners know that they’ve been in one place “long enough.” Such was the case with Israel at the base of Mount Horeb (Deut. 1:6), and then again at the end of their wilderness wandering (Deut. 2:3). The purpose of waiting had been fulfilled. The time of wandering had come to an end, and now was the moment to move forward. Sometimes when we are stuck in life, we wonder if the season of standstill will ever come to an end. But, when God says it’s time to move on, he often does so by reminding us of his promises and leading us to their fulfillment by faith. As we study (Deut. 1:1-18), may the promises of our faithful God fill us with hope, and may the fulfillment of his covenant blessings spur us to move forward by faith.
