Passage: Luke 15:1-32 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: Luke - Past Promises, Present Redemption
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - In Luke 15 we discover that outcasts and sinners are attracted to Jesus. He’s surrounded by tax collectors and their ilk, and the religious Pharisees can’t stand it. They whisper about Jesus, and deride his character saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” So, Jesus responds with a 3-part parable explaining how much he loves sinners. He seeks after them, calls them to repentance, and welcomes them into his joy. Our text this weekend challenges us to consider where we are with Jesus. Have we been distant from him? Are we lost or trapped somewhere far from him? Isn’t it time to return. May the Lord help us enter his joy as the lost are found.
