Speaker: Lukus Counterman - You’ve probably been to a conference or seen one online where they have a specialist up on stage and the audience gets the opportunity to ask questions. Well, in Luke 20 we have something similar – it’s a Q&A with Jesus. One group after another comes to the Lord with a question. But they’re not coming with inquisitive hearts. Instead, they are all trying to trap him. The scribes, chief priests, and elders want to trip up Jesus. They want to see just one misstep. But his wisdom far surpasses theirs, so he uses the opportunity to teach about who he is, what he wants, and what’s going to happen after we die. In this important text of scripture, we discover things about prophesy, our relationship to the government, and even a little bit about what it will be like in the resurrection. So may the Lord lead us through his word, and may we listen and follow in faith.
