Passage: Luke 4:14-44 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: Luke - Past Promises, Present Redemption
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - In Luke 4, the gospel writer introduces Jesus’ public ministry. But he does it with a sermon preached in the Nazareth synagogue. Jesus stands up and reads from Isaiah 61:1-2 and declares that the words of the prophet are fulfilled in him. And with that, the gracious ministry of Jesus was launched. He would extend his authority over demons and diseases, he would teach and preach about the Kingdom of God, and by the power of his word, people would be saved. Our Lord came with grace and truth and our responsibility is to listen to his word and receive his grace. May the words and works of Jesus strengthen our hearts afresh as we gather in worship around the word.
