Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Israel was going through a major transition. Once they had been slaves, now they were free. Once they had been nomads, now they were about to settle in the land of promise. Once they had only oral tradition, now they had God’s law written down to guide and direct them. Once they had a sage leader, now he was about to die. There were lots of changes on the horizon for the people of God and they needed to know how to navigate them. As we near the end of Deuteronomy, Moses tells the people what they need in seasons of change. Basically, says that we need to remember our leaders, heed God’s warnings, and treasure the Word. May the Lord help us as we face changes and transitions in our own lives.
