Passage: Romans 15:5-7 & Genesis 1:26 Speaker: Pastor Jon Kopp Series: Christian Foundations II
Speaker: Jon Kopp - We live in a culture that champions individualism, but has that mindset crept into our spiritual lives as well? A recent study found that 38% of Christians, when asked how they prefer to learn to follow Jesus, answered, “on my own.” Following Jesus, once rooted in the community life of believers, has become privatized, reduced to personal endeavors like “my quiet time” or “my walk with Jesus.” But what if God’s design for growth was never meant to be a solo project? Throughout the New Testament, spiritual growth is envisioned as a communal journey, where believers sharpen each other and live out the gospel together. In this study, we will uncover the biblical truth that God saves us into a family and shapes us through relationships, pushing back against the isolation of modern spirituality. God’s better way for us is life together, marked by love, patience, and the kind of growth that only happens when we’re connected, exposed, and transformed in Christian community. Let’s discover how this divine design reveals God’s glory and deepens our walk with Him.
