Passage: 2 Corinthians 4:7-18 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: Standalone Messages
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - What do you do when living for Christ gets tough? What do you do when living on mission just drains you? What do you do when being a Christian is hard and serving the Lord is exhausting? You don’t have to be a believer very long to realize that true discipleship can be difficult, sacrificial service can be draining, and ministering to people can be discouraging at times. For some people, their service for Christ includes late nights of work, long hours of ministry, sacrifice, loss, sickness, demotions, downgrades, wrecked cars, stolen property, rejection, opposition, oppression, loneliness, and wearisome plodding. It’s not easy. So how are we supposed to respond to the suffering and sacrifices associated with being a disciple of Jesus? How are we supposed to maintain our joy and not lose heart in the midst of trials that threaten us? In 2 Corinthians 4:7-18 we learn that God wants us to REMEMBER what he is doing through our suffering and be RENEWED daily by looking at life through the lens of faith.
