Passage: Exodus 20:16 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: Ten Commandments
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Before Christ (Rom. 3:13) says that our mouths were like open graves and we practiced deceit with regularity. Our father was the Devil who himself is a liar and the father of it (John 8:44). But when we heard the “word of truth, the gospel of our salvation” (Eph. 1:13), the Spirit of truth (John 15:26) led us to Jesus who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). When we believed the truth about Jesus – his crucifixion, burial, and resurrection for our sins, and responded in repentance and faith – we escaped the lie. Humanity has been under the lie since the fall (Gen. 3), but Christ came to rescue us from our delusion and deceit. May the prayer of our heart this morning echo the psalmist in (Psalm 25:5): “Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation.” May the “truth set us free” today (John 8:32).
