Speaker: Lukus Counterman - This week we will look at the second half of Deuteronomy 22, an admittedly difficult passage. As we do, let’s remember how God cares for the hurting and struggling, let’s remember that his plan is best, and let’s ask him to give us the obedience of faith. We are surrounded by evidence of a world gone wrong. Things are twisted, bent, and broken. The innocent are victimized, purity is belittled and trampled upon, common courtesy has given way to selfishness, and moral clarity has become muddled and blurred. So, how can the people of God live right in a world like ours? Well, Deuteronomy 22 provides helpful insights in that regard. With the Lord’s help we can learn to protect the innocent, pursue civility, preserve God-given boundaries, and promote sexual purity. In a world gone wrong we can learn to live right. May the Lord teach us and empower us as we glean from his word together.
