Passage: 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: 1 Corinthians - Pursue Love
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - In 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, Paul addresses the Corinthian problem associated with the Lord’s Supper. They were being selfish and divisive, greedy and factious. And that totally contradicted the nature of Communion. The ordinance was established to portray Jesus’ selflessness, sacrifice, and love. It was meant to bring the church together with blood-bought unity. But things were upside down in Corinth. So, Paul called these believers back to the original intent of the meal. He called them back to the worship of Christ. May our church be marked by love and unity as we worship Jesus together. And may our celebration of communion truly picture the beauty of the gospel of grace.
