Speaker: Lukus Counterman - The Corinthian church was plagued with pride and boasting. The people were divided, and worldly wisdom was the operating system of the congregation. Spiritual leaders were wrongly assessed, and spiritual gifts were wrongly applied. The Corinthians were puffed up and they were forgetting the grace of God. The church was awry in so many ways that Paul calls them to think about the basis of their evaluations, their relationship with the world, and the expressions of love they were experiencing. In 1 Corinthians 4 we discover that God loves his church so much, he’s willing to correct, admonish, and realign us for his glory and our good. May the Lord teach us through his word as we study together this week.
