MESSAGES BY SERIES:
Mormonism
GGC is for SLC. Which means we must learn how to relate to the faith tradition that is central to our city historically, culturally, and even geographically. We might pursue friendships with Mormons without ever asking thoughtful questions about their beliefs. (This results in shallow relationships.) Or we might study LDS history and theology without ever realizing that people are more than a set of doctrinal statements. (Not surprisingly, this also results in shallow relationships.) Our goal is to become like Paul in Athens: seeking first to understand, then to be understood. This class explores the worldview and theology taught by the LDS church, preparing us for a February-March class by Will Galkin on reaching Mormons as people.
